Stake Basketball

Basketball starts January 11-12th!

If your ward would like to participate in either Men's, Women's, Young Men's, or Young Women's basketball, please email ifiso@me.com

The Young Men and Young Women will be 3-on-3 while the Men and Women will play 5 on 5.

Here are a few proposed changes to the rules:

Two eighteen (18) minute halves with running clock except the last ten (10) seconds of the first half and the last two (2) minutes of the game.

Halftime will last three (3) minutes.

Common fouls will be shot as 1 shot for 2 points on the 7^th foul  each  half.

Shooting fouls will be awarded as one (1) shot for two (2) points throughout the game.  A foul on a 3 point shot is 1 shot for 3 points.

If a player scores and is fouled, then shoot one (1) free throw. (normal)

Technical fouls are all shot as one (1) shot for two (2) points throughout the game.

Each team receives two (2) time-outs (30 seconds in length) per game and one (1) time-out for each over-time. Time-outs do not carry over into the over-time.

Overtime will be decided by sudden death with the team scoring the first point in the overtime declared the winner.

The clock will continue to run during the last two (2) minutes if a team has a lead of ten (10) or more points. The clock will stop if the lead shrinks below 10 points.
